Calling Young People – Swarm with us
You are invited to help ‘prototype’ new ideas with Boots Pharmacy to grow a healthier and happier community of young people in Colchester.
Who?
Dan Burgess and Tom Farrand from Swarm who are working with Boots are keen to gather a group of 16-20 young people (aged around 12-15) to work with Boots staff, local community leaders and expert innovators and designers in small teams.
When?
A 2 hour session after-school (4-6pm) on Wednesday 9th March, hosted by Swarm and Boots. Dan and Tom’s Team are filming the session for Boots so would need consent from all student participants for them to take part.
What?
Over the 2 hours, we’re looking to explore a little bit about what health and wellbeing means to this younger group and what issues they are most concerned about.
Then something around the role of a pharmacist and a store like Boots
How might that work ?
And some co-designing around how a shop and a pharmacist could evolve to be more relevant to them when thinking about these issues and challenges
The session will be fun and creative - working in small groups, with Boots ppl, our creative teams, health and youth folks that yo’ve recruited - responding to some initial ideas, bringing some new ideas to life, sharing them back to the wider group etc…
Where?
Why?
This is a great opportunity for a group of 15 young people to put their experiences, ideas and creativity to use in a professional but fun environment, to give them a voice in a new approach. Boots are taking and to learn some new skills around communication, team-work and creative thinking. We will also have refreshments, goody bags and will cover expenses e.g. travel to and from the venue.
