Plans for 2016
Happy New Year to our local community and customers.
As we move into 2016 and reopen this Friday, we’d like to update you with our plans for the year ahead.
Things are changing nearby! Work has started on the Old Police Station next door, Curzon plans are looking strong and the wider redevelopment around us is gaining momentum behind the scenes. Therefore, 2016 will almost certainly be the final year in our current location.
This was always expected. The Waiting Room was designed as a meanwhile project, and, infact, we have already had much longer on the site than originally intended. Our time to date has afforded a huge volume of learning and for us to bond as a cooperative, creative community.
As a group we remain committed to providing something unique for Colchester. We continue to talk to Colchester Borough Council and its partners about what next, beyond the Old Bus Station and the Waiting Room.
There is a collective will, amongst all parties, to see something continue. To allow time to prepare for the changes ahead – in the short term at least – you may notice a slight reduction in our opening hours and programme of events.
Our new opening hours will be as follows:
Friday:
6pm - 1am, DJs and Street Food
Saturday:
10am - 4pm, Good Souls Bakery + weekly maker activity
(including our Monthly Bazaar)
7.30pm - Midnight, Live Performance
(Always check events calendar for specific event details as they may vary).
During this period we will continue the development our Maker Space and Membership. Keep an eye on this blog and social media to learn about how you can be involved.
Thank you for all your support along our exciting journey so far… we look forward to seeing you down at the Waiting Room very soon!
