At the end of 2016 the time finally came for the Waiting Room to close its doors.
We always knew the project was going to be temporary or ‘meanwhile’ as it’s called in the trade. It was originally funded and designed to pop-up for just 12 months. The premise of the project was to be a prototype - try something new and learn fast.
3.5 years (42 months) later and we think we’re onto something and we’ve proven our point. Now it’s time to move on, to let things flourish on their own two feet and for the successful elements of the Waiting Room to find a permanent home.
From our side, as a volunteer team, we’re taking a little rest from the DIY Venue side of things to focus on finding a new home for our Makerspace.
As far as all our incredible regular collaborators and contributors are concerned, we made a little list so you can continue to follow them on their journey. So our beautiful little community can continue to grow…
