Makerspace General Induction
26/11/2016 @ 10:00 - 13:00
The Waiting Room hosts a Makerspace with two open workshops providing shared access to tools and machinery for making.
The facility operates on a membership subscription and is pay-what-you-can, so it’s affordable to al!
If you are interested in joining we suggest you attend one of our free monthly open days (on the 3rd Week of every month).
Alternatively contact our workshop manager Polly to arrange a tour (see events calendar for Open Days or find our contact details below to arrange a tour).
Before anyone is allowed to access the Makespace we have designed this one off, single day, mandatory induction that everyone must complete to gain general access
The Makerspace includes:
1. Sculpture Studio — providing shared access to tools and machinery such as a kiln, large saws, a lathe, sanders, piller drills and metal work tools.
2. Print and Textiles Studio — providing shared access to letterpress, silkscreen, a darkroom and textiles equipment such as a cutting table, sewing, weaving and knitting machines.
Notes:
Some tools may require specialist training too.
This session will be led by a Workshop Supervisor.
