The Waiting Room is home to two disused kiosks, formerly a newsagent and a left luggage centre serving the bus station.
As an extension of the highly successful Hidden Kiosk project run by The Creative Coop, we will be providing business incubation spaces for local makers.
Kiosk 1 will be a shared cooperatively run Maker Shop founded and coordinated by Lucy Hook-Child, founder of former art market 'Weasel in a Tea Cup'.
Lucy explains "Kiosk 1 will be a unit where local craft people and artists can sell together, gauging interest and testing the market for their products and services in a low-risk, practical test-bed setting."
Kiosk 2 will be available for one week to three month residencies as a short-term shop, providing a dedicated selling and presentation space for new and established makers.
If you are a local artist or maker who has something to sell in Kiosk 1, or would like to run a short shop in Kiosk 2, let us know by using our online form or visiting one of our many open events and speaking to us face-to-face.
