JOIN OUR TEAM

This August we’ve been running the Waiting Room for 2 years. During this time we’ve been fleet of foot, adapted and prototyped several enterprise models as we attempt to secure our long term financial sustainability.

In addition to revenue, we know that integral to our sustainability is attracting the right people to join our team.

We need to keep overheads low so we can continue to provide a space where local talent can develop and shine, while taking creative risks on new and cutting-edge ideas.

As the project grows so does our need for people in our team. As a result we are recruiting for new team members.

We’re not run in the usual way, we have fun and work in a cooperative fashion to improve our home town. We share the responsibility and do the same with any rewards – which come in all shapes and sizes.

All of our roles – including the open vacancies listed below – are designed to be flexible and fit around every day commitments like friends, family and full time jobs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee applications for kitchen residencies and manage relationships

2. Ensure greater join up between food and drink and other Waiting Room events and spaces

3. Manage café/bar stock, bar rota, cash and float

4. Work with suppliers to design training in products

5. Create and implement food hygeine policies

1. Support the members to develop and run a MakerSpace workshop

2. Ensure greater join up between the MakerSpace and other Waiting Room events and activitues

3. Oversee risk assessments and health and safety policies, including training procedures for members

4. Oversee workshop income and expenditure

5. Oversee any member MakerSpace led events 6. Be the first point of contact for new and existing membership enquiries
