VOLUNTEER SATURDAYS

Calling all you painters, scrapers, sanders and general tidy upperers!

Plenty of stuff to do tomorrow on our first Saturday Volunteer day here at St Botolph's Waiting Room. Do please come and lend a hand if you can, we would be very pleased to see you.

So far our jobs include:

● Painting our darkroom in the maker space with a coat of white emulsion

● Sanding the external woodwork around the building in preparation for a base coat

● Cleaning up and sanding down scaffold boards to make into more table tops

Joining the St Botolph's Team

My name is David Ross, and I've recently taken on the role of Project Coordinator here at St Botolph's Waiting Room.

I thought it a good idea to introduce myself and give you a bit of insight into who I am, and what I'll be doing for the team.

First and foremost I'd like you to consider me as the go to guy for any support you might need organising and getting things done, whatever your interest in the Waiting Room. I'm also the first port of call for welcoming new members, showing people around the space and any other general enquiries.

The hunt for local makers

Calling all makers, designers and creative souls in Colchester.

As you may know I am currently working with the Creative Coop to create an online directory of makers and crafters in Colchester and Essex for the St Botolph’s Waiting Room.

I currently have a lot of contacts working in textiles, ceramics and jewellery and I am really looking to diversify out of these areas.

I’m hunting for Crafters, Designers & Makers

Hi I'm Alex and I'm excited to announce I'm taking on a new project working with the sterling Creative Coop on the St Botolph's Waiting Room project.

As a Researcher & Facilitator, I've been invited to create a Directory of Makers and Crafts people in Colchester - developing it into a online profile - with case studies, photos, videos and audio interviews.

First day collecting memories.

Whilst capturing the memories of the St Botolph’s area from those who have enjoyed this historically rich area within Colchester, little did we know our first hiccup would be the dulcet tones of British songstress Adele. Our first afternoon was pencilled in to be a chance to get to know the area, visit local business’ and to introduce the idea of creating an online archive of memories to the community.
