Help us shout from the roof tops

The team at the Waiting Room has known for some time, if we are going to be a true success, we need to get much better at telling people about what we do.

If we are going to be a genuine community space we need to move beyond the comfortable echo chamber – the creative clique – that are our own online networks. We need ensure we make every local resident aware of what is available to them.

We are also increasingly aware of the need to move quickly, after all the Waiting Room is a meanwhile project and before we know it, it could be gone.

However the things that make us vunerable & fragile also provide us with a source of energy and strength. Being a short-term project means we have to be creative & nimble, taking quick decisions to maintain momentum.

The Waiting Room is looking for a volunteer who will thrive in that environment. Someone to join our ranks to support our day-to-day online presence. Daily Facebook, Twitter and instagram posts, along with adhoc blogs and weekly newsletter is the order of the day, but there is opportunity to refine, shape or diversify what we do.

We need some extra hands so we can begin to expand our coverage to other more traditional channels to reach wider audience. All the tools and a clear (but hackable) strategy is in place and the role can easily be fitted around work commitments. It could be taken on as an individual or pair of friends and the rewards will be immense and we can work together to shape what they are.

You do not need to be a Social Media guru or web geek to help, training can be provided, but you do need an eye for detail to help us capture the fine grain of our beautiful community.
